300+lbs of Clothing Collected for Charity
Lonesource Atlanta recently collected over 300 lbs of assorted men's, women's and children's garments in a month long clothing drive to benefit the Hope Atlanta programs of Travelers Aid. The Lonesource cargo van was filled with large boxes, each stuffed to capacity, as the 4 man delivery team of Brandon Andrews, Jeremy Le, David Hardy and Brian Rossi went to hand deliver them to the Metro Atlanta office headquarters on Tuesday, August 11th. These clothes will be put to good use, as Travelers Aid is one of the oldest and most active non-profit organizations in the country. Their specialty: helping individuals who are facing emergency situations, who have no where else to turn. When crisis strikes -Travelers Aid helps!
With the clothing donation also came the remarkable opportunity to volunteer time in the Hope Atlanta headquarters building. After getting a detailed tour of the impressive day-to-day operations from Ayokah Harrison-Holmes, the 4 Lonesource associates spent time with Deputy Director -Kay Bernier, and were then introduced to the organizations Executive Director -Edward Powers. When it was time to get to work, Brandon Andrews answered 40+ inbound calls on the 800 hotline, David Hardy made follow up calls to people who had recently been assisted by the organization, while Brian Rossi and Jeremy Le restocked and reorganized the dry goods pantry. An incredible experience for all, and another example of Lonesource continuing to make a difference in the local community.
